How does it work?

 

Pet Portraits

My pet portraits differ from traditional portraits in that they are not an exact replica of a photo. I tend to use a few different photos to get a feel for your pets look and personality and create a painting or pencil drawing from there. The painted portraits are bold and bright, however feel free to tell me if you think a particular colour would clash terribly in your home. If you prefer a more understated and muted portrait, a pencil, watercolour or pastel drawing might be more your style.

If you wish to purchase a portrait of your pet, please email me a few photos of your pet and let me know what you would like. To make sure the photos are suitable for me to use, please follow these hints:

• Resize the photos to under 80KB
• Colour photos are preferable
• Ideally, the photo would show head and shoulders or a whole body shot - not too close or too far away
• Photos that are taken eye level to your pet are preferable

After I recieve your email, I will create a rough sketch of your pet portrait and email it back to you for confirmation. The sketch will be quite simple. Here are a few samples:

We can then have a chat about colours and styles and you can ask me to change anything that you aren't too keen on. If you wish to proceed, a non-refundable 50% deposit is required. Once recieved, I will begin to paint (or pencil) your portrait, which will be ready for pick up (or post) within 4 - 6  weeks. I will then email through a photo of the final product. The remaining balance must be paid before pick up/post and can be paid by direct deposit, cheque or money order.

I am situated on the northside of Brisbane, if you are interstate I can courier/post the painting to you for an additional cost. Obviously, pencil portraits are much cheaper and easier to post.

 

Animal Paintings

I also paint pictures of other animals by request, in a similar style to the pet portraits. Pricing is the same as for the pet portraits. Please email me to discuss this if you are interested.
